The Pasco School District is looking for ways to conserve your taxpayer money.
It's hoping to put a 48 million dollar bond issue on the ballot in February to build several new schools.
The district also wants to know what you think about its plans for new schools. It's working on a 10-question community survey to figure out exactly what residents are willing to support.
"It is a way of constructing a very efficient, yet schools that have great educational value," said Assistant Superintendent John Morgan.
Action News has also learned the district wants to use existing property near Whittier Elementary, and in West Pasco, to build new schools. That eliminates a big cost of buying enough land. We're told that would bring the overall cost to you down from 95 cents per thousand dollars of your home's value to 34.
