PNNL employees take kids to work

RICHLAND, Wash. -- PNNL staff workers don't have everyday office jobs, but today their kids got a firsthand look at what Mom and Dad do.

The Richland lab celebrated "Take Your Child to Work Day" Monday. Activities included trying out Google Glass and new touch-screen platforms, as well as technology that give you lifelike views of the Space Needle.

Some of the kids we talked to said they see errors in current technology and want to fix that.

"A button was placed in the wrong spot or something, but I know that it frustrates a lot of other people, so I want to help that not happen to people," said Chris Roberts.

Nearly 700 kids showed up today, breaking last year's record by about 100.
