Othello schools warn parents about new drug trends

OTHELLO -- The freshman football at Othello High School had its season cut short after it was discovered the players were breaking team rules on a bush returning from an away game.
And now the school has held a parental outreach event to help educate parents about new trends they might not be awar of.
School administrators addressed gang clothing and symbols that parents might not even realize their kids could be wearing.
The administration denies the event had anything to do with the football incident, but has confirmed E-cigarettes are the biggest problem right now.
"E cigarettes are is the big thing right now. On top of the fact that they can be used to smoke marijuana and other elicit drugs", said Othello High School principal Carlos Gonalez.
Dozens of parents came out for the event.
The administration says their students' safety is their top priority.
