Officers who shot and killed bank robber cleared
UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore. -- The Umatilla County grand jury has cleared the officers who shot and killed a bank robber outside Hermiston's liquor store of any wrong-doing.
Surveillance shows the suspect went directly from forcibly stealing money in Community Bank across the parking lot to grab a bottle of liquor.
Police arrived and cornered the gunman inside the store - but he wasn't about to go down without a fight.
He pulled what looked to be a semi-automatic handgun on them and the officers fired off five rounds in response.
After the ordeal it was discovered it was actually this b-b gun pictured here.
The case has been officially closed.
