No splash park for Richardson Park

PASCO, Wash. -- KEPR has learned a splash park planned for east Pasco will go into west Pasco instead.

The city planned to put splash parks at the old Kurtzman Pool and also Richardson Park. The Kurtzman one will open later this month, but now Richardson will get an additional basketball court instead.

"I think that's good," said resident Christian Flores. "I know Richardson Park is really good for playing basketball. I think that's where it should stay, is right there at Richardson Park, because most people know that's where you come and play ball, especially with the community.

Construction for a new basketball court will begin shortly after Kurtzman opens. A site for the west Pasco splash park hasn't been picked.
