PASCO, Wash. -- A local woman whose daughter was found murdered is still hoping to find the killer, nearly 20 years later.

The 13-year-old's body was found dumped on Taylor Flats Road. She'd been shot.

16 years later, the case is cold. But Christine Pelayo still works to keep it alive.

"The first few years, it's a fog, and you're just trying to open your eyes and come out of it," said Christine. "It's not the order of things to have a daughter taken so young, but in murder, it's twice as hard, because it was violent. We still want to know what happened to Anna; I want to know what happened to my daughter."

In honor of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, Christine helped organize a candlelight vigil on behalf of crime victims. It was held Thursday night in Volunteer Park in Pasco.
