More mosquitoes this Fourth of July?
BENTON COUNTY - Positive tests for West Nile have already been found here locally this season. Not in people, but in mosquitoes.

And this extreme weather may have them breeding even faster. Folks with mosquito control tell us the first weeks this month kept crews slammed.

The positive tests were in Mabton and Prosser.

Crews say numbers have started to drop, but say they're concerned about the combination of rain and then hot weather. It could mean a lot more mosquitoes this Fourth of July.

"They're going to go from egg to adult very quickly, and we just want to make sure that we don't have that right before the holiday weekend," said Benton County Mosquito Control District Manager Angela Beehler.

As always..you're advised to dump out standing water to prevent swarms from growing.
