TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- KEPR learned more babies are being born in Benton County than ever before.

Kadlec says they've had five-percent more births at their hospital than in the same time period last year. And last year was a record.

Trios Health was unable to provide their data. But WorkSource says overall, Benton County has two-percent more than last year, totaling almost three-thousand births.

Franklin County has seen a decrease since Lourdes closed its birthing center last June. WorkSource credits the increase in Benton County on this closure, along with an increase in population.
