Money breakthrough for Walla Walla vets home
SEN. PATTY MURRAY NEWS RELEASE – Today, Sloan D. Gibson, Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), informed U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), that the VA has committed $23 million, the full federal funding amount, for construction of the planned, but long-awaited Veterans Home in Walla Walla, Washington.

“There are few communities in our entire country that offer more passion and support for our veterans than Walla Walla, and today’s announcement is nothing short of historic for the men and women who have served and now call Eastern Washington home,” said Senator Murray. “For more than a decade, I’ve worked with veterans and community leaders to build the VA Outpatient Clinic we opened earlier this year and finally construct a Veterans Home in Walla Walla, and today, we’re one, critical step closer to reaching our final goal.”
