Midweek holiday equals safe highways in Oregon

PENDLETON-- This Fourth of July marks just the second time in Oregon State Patrol's history that there were zero fatal accidents.
A phenomenal feat as the holiday has time and again proven the deadliest day of the year across this nation's roadways.
Since 1970 -- nearly 300-people have lost their lives in Oregon alone.
A number that more than likely played the key role in such a quiet day -- 21.
That's how many D-U-I's were handed out on the Fourth of July -- a mind-boggling drop-off from the 110 issued last year.
This information is still early mind you -- but more times than not, they stand as is.
