Michael Johnson pleads not guilty

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- The Kennewick man accused of killing a pedestrian has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide.

Michael Johnson is charged with the death of 52 year old Nina Howard. Police say Johnson was racing his son on West 27th when she was hit.

Officers determined he was going 72 in a 40. Howard was jaywalking and police say, if Johnson had been going the speed limit, Howard would have had time to get out of the way.

His trial is set for August.
