Man stuffs booze down pants, grabs scissors in Pasco Rite-Aid
PASCO POLICE NEWS RELEASE-- On July 1st an individual walked into the Rite-Aid on 20th street in Pasco. Store employees watched the individual walk over and place bottles of Hennessey Cognac down the front of his pants.

The clerk attempted to stop the individual from leaving the store. The suspect grabbed a pair of scissors from the shelf display and armed himself. He then pushed past the clerk and attempted to stab the clerk while escaping from the store. The clerk was not harmed during the encounter and the suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect was described as being a tall black male in his late forties.

On July 5th a lone black male individual walked into the Rite Aid on 4th street in Pasco. The individual was observed by employees removing two bottles of Hennessy Cognac from the shelves of the liquor isle. He then carried the bottles into the public restrooms of the store. When employees attempted to stop the individual from leaving the store with the alcohol bottles he bolted on foot from the store. Officers were arriving at the store, when the suspect took off on a run from the scene. Officers chased the suspect to the area of 3rd and Columbia Street where he was taken into custody by police.

Taken into custody was Thomas D. Franklin, 48 years of age of Pasco. Mr. Franklin is alleged to of been the person involved in the July 1st armed robbery of the Rite Aid on 20th Street as well as the July 5th theft. Each bottle of Cognac has an average retail value of $40.00.

Thomas Franklin is being held in the Franklin County Corrections Center pending formal review of the charges by the Franklin County Prosecutors Office.
