TRI-CITIES, Washington -- Two months after Lourdes hospital closed its birth center, KEPR learned the move has barely impacted other hospitals.
Lourdes delivered its last baby at the end of June.
There were some concerns the other birth centers would be swamped. KEPR learned that hasn't happened.
Only about one baby a day was born at Lourdes a day.
Kadlec and KGH say they haven't been significantly affected.
This year, Kadlec is seeing a record number of births, but the Lourdes closure isn't the reason.
