Kittitas County gets free jack for its new emergency vehicles
KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -- A Pasco man decided to help out after hearing the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office had received a surplus Humvee and five-ton military cargo truck. The vehicles will be used for emergency management.

Richard Bogert owns Bogert International in Pasco. The company developed a special hydraulic jack for the military. Bogert went to high school with Kittitas County Auditor Jerry Pettit. So Bogert decided to help out. He donated one of these special jacks for use on the heavy vehicles.

The jack was designed for safely sliding under Humvees or other vehicles and will lift up to 10,000 pounds. It is better suited for rough terrain and lifting heavy loads than normal jacks.

Bogert International has supplied thousands of jacks to the military and continues to invent and produce other items for the military at their offices in Pasco.
