Kennewick selects new council member
KENNEWICK - Decision day finally arrived in the search for new city council member in Kennewick. Today's selection came after several interviews with finalists.
In the end -- votes were split between Greg Jones and James Hempstead. But in the end, half the council changed their votes in favor of Jones.
He was sworn-in shortly afterword--- and told us what his main goals will be.
"Primarily, to continue the growth in this city -- to continue with the economic development south of Interstate 82 at Southridge -- as well as the bridge-to-bridge and the entertainment district," said City Council Member Greg Jones.
Jones' first council meeting will be Tuesday night. He replaces Sharon Brown - who left the city council to go to the state senate.
