KENNEWICK, Wash. - It's no secret that some children need a little help outside of school and one Kennewick program is helping those kids.

"Team Read" is a program sponsored by the Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia. There are hundreds of students who could use the help across half-a-dozen elementary schools, but there are only 150 volunteers."Team Read" is looking to have local businesses give employees time during work to read to kids. Sterling Bank is currently one of those businesses.

"It allows us to go out there and develop a relationship with these kids, it's throughout the whole year, so it's nice that work allows me that time to give back," said volunteer Monica Cisneros.

This is the 14th year "Team Read" has been serving the Kennewick school district. If you want to volunteer, there's a link posted at keprtv.com.
