Kennewick police investigating string of residential burglaries

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick police are investigating a series of burglaries this month that have taken place within a half-mile of one another.

According to the Kennewick Police Department, four burglaries have been reported since Feb. 2 in the area of Yelm Street and U.S. 395. All four occurred on the weekend between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Suspects have taken electronics, video games, and two safes.

The burglaries took place in the 500 block of North Yelm Street, the 2200 block of West Clearwater Avenue, the 2400 block of West Bruneau Avenue, and the 500 block of North Underwood Street.

Police say area residents should call 911 if they see any suspicious vehicles or people, especially if someone knocks on the door asking for a person who doesn't live there.
