RICHLAND - After years of work -- the Keene Road Corrider Project is now complete.

The multi-phased project expanded the bridge from two lanes to four -- connecting Richland and West Richland.

A pathway for walkers was also added.

The project cost more than three-million dollars.

It was paid for through the Transportation Improvement Board, city and federal dollars.

We asked how they stretched your taxpayer dollars.

"Well, we actually did use the existing railroad bridge which was about a $3.5 million savings - so about half the cost it would have cost to build a bridge from scratch," said Project Engineer

The road will officially open to drivers tomorrow.
