KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The bouncer accused of causing serious injuries to a bar patron was in court Thursday morning. Matthew Hibbard went before a judge on assault charges.
The 41-year old pleaded not guilty to third degree assault with aggravated circumstances.
Hibbard is the Jack Didley's bouncer accused of third degree assault with aggravated circumstances for excessive injuries against Ben Ensign.
As Action News reported previously, 3rd degree means Hibbard's actions were not intentional but resulted in the severe injury.
Hibbard could face five years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
He has not been arrested and is not in jail. A trial date was set for October.
Hibbard and Jack Didley's bar owner, Todd Jones, both declined to speak to Action News during the appearance today.
