Iraq veteran & family receive mortgage-free home in Pasco

WELLS FARGO NEWS RELEASE -- Wells Fargo in partnership with the Military Warriors Support Foundation announced today that they have awarded a mortgage-free Real Estate Owned (REO) home to Retired Iraq war veteran Sergeant Charles Aikala and his family. Wednesday (5/14) morning, Aikala received the keys to the 1660 square foot house in Pasco where he will live with his wife and three children.

Wells Fargo and the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) are committed to helping veterans, like Aikala, who have served their country and have sustained combat injuries as a result of that service. The goal of Wells Fargo is to support in MWSF’s mission to successfully transition veterans back into civilian life after experiencing these life-altering injuries. For his service and sacrifice for our great nation, MWSF awarded Aikala and his family a 100% mortgage-free home that was donated by Wells Fargo.

Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Charles Aikala served from 1995 through 2011. In 2004, he was deployed to Iraq with 11B Infantryman with the Army Reserves. He served in Iraq until he was wounded from an IED blast in an intensive firefight in May, 2005. He received numerous awards including a Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Stars.

We hope Sergeant Aikala and his family will enjoy their new home and that it contributes to improving his quality of life after all he has done for our country.”

Real estate property donations are part of Wells Fargo’s long-standing commitment to giving back and revitalizing communities. Wells Fargo’s partnership with MWSF helps to provide homes for deserving heroes, through the organization’s Homes 4Wounded Heroes program.
