Helpers wanted for massive bike build
KENNEWICK-- U.A. Local Union 598 Plumbers & Steamfitters are in need of some volunteer "elbow grease" Friday for four hours, starting at nine a.m., building bicycles for local children as a part of the Toys for Tots program.

Details from their news release:
Four (4) Hours, Friday, December 13, 9:00AM at the Benton Franklin County Fairgrounds

U.A. Local Union 598 Plumbers & Steamfitters fundraise to purchase bicycles and helmets for Fitters Bikes for Tikes and then donate them to the Local Marine Corps Toys for Tots. 100% of fundraising money and donations purchase bikes and helmets.

In 2012 the members of Local Union 598 raised enough to purchase 1,140 bikes and helmets. Our membership along with volunteers, local high-school students, and community leaders assemble the bikes and help organize toys. The past three years have been very successful. We are looking forward to providing bikes and helmets to even more children this Christmas.

The annual bike build will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Benton Franklin County Fairgrounds. A hot lunch will be provided. Pins, lanyards and long sleeve t-shirts are available at the Union Hall.
