HANFORD, Wash. -- The news that a tank may have leaked into the soil at Hanford has raised new concerns at the site. This weekend Action News brings you a special report on Hanford's Dirty Secrets.

Together with the KING 5 investigators from Seattle, it's a deeper look at just what was known and when - about the leaking double-shell tank.

A Hanford whistleblower tells his story of how his concerns were discounted in favor of other explanations even when he believed without question that the tank was breached.

"It was very shocking to us. For both of us. We kept looking at each other like, wow! that's really hot!" said Mike Geffre, a Hanford contractor.

"At that moment was there really any doubt in your mind that you had a leak?" a KING 5 investigator asked.

"Oh no, I knew right away we had a leak, that something was wrong down there," Geffre said.
