Groundwater concerns for State Pen

Groundwater concerns for State Pen
WALLA WALLA-- Walla Walla's State Pen may be home to hundreds of dangerous inmates -- but the Department of Ecology is more concerned about the groundwater in its wells.

Investigators flagged the site after finding potentially-dangerous chemicals seeped into the system.

A mixture of gasoline and lead could soon be a threat.

Samples do not exceed state standards -- and Walla Walla confirmed there's no sign the contamination spread to drinking water.

The Department still plans to go ahead with a clean-up.
