More than 1,100 bikes were donated -- that's more than twice last year's number.
Local 598 worked to construct the bikes -- helping out Richland and Ki-Be students as well. And when we talked to the high schoolers -- they were probably as enthusiastic as the gift recipients.
"All the kids that's going to help. All the kids that are going to wake up on Christmas and find a bike underneath their tree when they weren't expecting anything -- that's just amazing," said Richland Student Desirae Laird.
Toys for Tots will give these wheels to the families tomorrow -- along with other gifts.
