Fugitive duo's luck runs out; police nab them after 2nd car wreck in a week
Two fugitives had to be hospitalized after causing their second car wreck in less than a week.
Vernon Johnson and Miranda York have been on the run from local authorities since Thursday night -- when deputies say they spotted them and two accomplices in a car stolen out of the Tri-Cities.
Pursuit ended with them totaling the vehicle on Highway 332 and Winesap.
That time they got away -- not the case yesterday when Walla Walla Police caught the suspects in a car just reported stolen out of College Place.
History repeated itself as the chase ended when Johnson slammed into another vehicle at the Howard and Bryant intersection.
He was flown to Seattle for his injuries - York was taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle they sent flipping through a front-yard was said to be in the best shape of them all, despite having to be pulled out through a window as the truck caught fire.
The pair is wanted by agencies across the northwest for their recent crime spree.
