Former Hanford teacher makes plea deal on rape charges

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A former Hanford High School teacher made a plea deal with Benton County Prosecutors Thursday. Daryl Rachinski admitted to communication with a minor for immoral purposes. This is a lesser crime than the third degree rape charge he face.
Last June, Richland School District placed Rachinski on administrative leave after he walked in the police station to confess he had taken advantage of a close relationship with a 16-year old girl.
Rachinski was a foreign language teacher at the school before he resigned.
This plea deal avoids trial.
