YAKIMA, Wash. -- Concern over food safety forced the closure of the Wendy's restaurants in Yakima. Wendy's International said the spots on North and South First Street were not meeting standards.
They included failed internal inspections.
Yakima's Health Department also found violations.
"Some of the items were bare hand contact with ready to eat food, not washing hands properly and some workers without food workers cards."
Wendy's is working to correct the problems and reopen both restaurants.
Locations in the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla and Pendleton also closed.
The same person owns all of the locations.
