Family narrowly escapes Kennewick apartment fire

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A parent and two children narrowly escaped an apartment fire early Monday morning at a Kennewick fourplex.
Kennewick Fire Department said the fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. on the 6700 block of West 1st Avenue.
Nobody was hurt in the fire, but a family of three barely escaped their 2nd floor apartment.
Officials said the fire burned for about 20 minutes until they got it under control.
Firefighters estimate about $230,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kennewick Fire Marshal's Office at 509-582-1303.
