'Exceptional Rodeo' attracts record crowd
PASCO, Wash. -- Dozens of people with special needs lassoed their way through the Exceptional Rodeo Saturday morning.

The event's is strictly run by volunteers. In fact, organizers tell us they had to raise upwards of $1,000 to provide the cowboy-cowgirl clothing. Participants of all ages rope steered and rode horses. There were only smiles allowed here.

"My favorite part is the round-up. I like the horses because I can pet them," said rodeo participant Shona Grgo.

"It gives the kids a chance to come and see the animals without it being too high pressure or frightening or anything like that," said participating parent Karen Erikson.

The organization's next event in the area is August 23 at the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo.
