ER closing on Auburn, reopening at Southridge Tuesday
TRIOS HEALTH NEWS RELEASES -- Effective July 15, 2014 at 7 a.m. PDT, Trios Health’s Emergency Department will be located at Trios Southridge Hospital, 3810 Plaza Way, Kennewick.

Also beginning at 7am on July 15, the 900 S. Auburn Street location will no longer offer emergency services. Local emergency medical services (EMS) have been notified of this change so that they may transport patients to the correct facility. The closed ER location will re-open at 8:15am as Trios Urgent Care – Auburn, offering walk-in services and primary care appointments.

The emergency department at Trios Southridge Hospital has a total of 27 private rooms and will be staffed around the clock. It features separate entrances for walk-in patients and ambulance or helicopter arrivals. With the backing of a full-service hospital, the Trios emergency department has onsite admitting capability, as well as surgery and ancillary services, to seamlessly care for patients—whatever their needs—upon arrival.

For the first time ever in the Tri-Cities, a substantial portion of a hospital’s operations will be relocated. Hospital staff have planned and trained for the move to Trios Southridge Hospital over the past several months, involving local emergency management systems and consultants highly experienced in hospital moves to ensure the safe transfer of all patients staying in the intensive care and medical-surgical units. The hospital planned for a reduced census, discontinuing elective surgeries the afternoon of Friday, July 11.

Three dedicated ambulances staffed with medics and some with critical care specialists will be onsite to facilitate the patient moves. The transfers are expected to be completed by early afternoon.
