Sharp drop in crime for Benton City

The KEPR Crime Tracker uncovered a sharp decrease in crime for Benton City. We pulled the numbers starting in 2004. The records show crime fell by half since 2010.
The most-common crimes include assault, burglary and theft. However, that wasn't always the case.
In 2004, 2007 and 2009 -- the city accounted for three-rapes every year. Since 2010, no sex crimes have been reported.
"I think that it is surprising that it wouldn't be a hotbed because it is so small. I think there's a lot of opportunity, but I'm glad that it's decreased in the recent years," said Benton City visitor Alexa Diven.
Other notable years with spikes in crime were a string of three years: from 2006 to 2008.
