Dozens of gay couples married in the Tri-Cities
TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Six months after gay marriage was legalized, KEPR learned dozens of same-sex couples have tied the knot in the Tri-Cities.

Since it was made legal, 35 couples have gotten married across Benton and Franklin Counties through April.

In fact, gay marriage now makes up a tenth of all marriages in Benton County.

County workers tell us there have been more cases than they originally expected.

Across the state, more than two thousand gay couples have married since December.

Not surprisingly, King County has had the greatest number of gay marriages.

Same sex couples now represent a third of all marriages in the Seattle area.
