RICHLAND - Dozens of dogs took to the pool to beat the lingering summer heat.

Splashing, swimming it's what the pooch plunge is all about! Dogs played in the pool all afternoon.

The third annual event took place at Howard Amon Park. They usually take in about $1,000. All proceeds go to the Tri-City Dogs Park Society.

"It's great to have someplace where they can take a community of dogs and just have a ball - and just cool themselves down on a hot day like today," said Pet Sitter Jennifer Wodrich.

The group hopes to use funds for the Badger Mountain Dog Park.
