Deputies shut down Mesa cockfighting facility
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. -- The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says it has shut down a cockfighting training facility in Mesa.

Just after noon Saturday, deputies responded to a report of a cockfight in the 4700 block of Langford Road. When they arrived, they say between 20 and 30 people fled the area.

Five people were arrested for animal fighting. The five suspects were identified as Gonzalo Arroyo, Francisco Villanueva Gomez, Artisteo Isordia, Antonio Vasquez, and Roberto Jurado Ortiz.

Deputies say the residence appears to be a training facility for fighting roosters and that they found about 100 trained roosters on the property.
