DOE owes Energy Northwest $19 million in damages
RICHLAND, Wash. -- A federal court ruled Thursday that the U.S. Department of Energy owes Energy Northwest more than $19 million in damages.

The department failed to have storage ready for used nuclear fuel more than 15 years ago.

The money covers the construction and licensing of a used-fuel storage area at Columbia Generating Station.
