NEWPORT, Wash. (AP) - The Washington state Christmas tree for the nation's Capitol has arrived in Washington, D.C.

That 88-foot-tall spruce was cut on Nov. 1 in the Colville National Forest near Newport.

It stopped in 22 cities on its way across the country and was taken off its truck Monday on the west lawn of the Capitol.

It will be decorated with handcrafted ornaments made by Washingtonians.
