RICHLAND, Wash. -- a Chinese-based elementary school is catching on with the Tri-Cities growing Chinese population. Enrollment is currently at a few dozen students. Chinese kids attend the school to learn their heritage, while American students are taught to be bilingual. Classes range from kindergarten to 5th grade. The school hopes to expand to more locations soon.

Principal, Vera Lei tells KEPR, "We are the only organization in the Columbia Basin. We'd like to introduce more to more people who are interested in Chinese and Chinese culture. "

Each semester of Chinese school is 15 weeks long. Tuition is $150.
