Central Washington hit with magnitude 4.3 earthquake

LEAVENWORTH, Wash -- An earthquake and some aftershocks rattled parts of Central Washington Wednesday night.

The 4.3 magnitude earthquake was centered about 14 miles north of Leavenworth, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake, which hit at about 7:45 p.m., was felt throughout central Washington, though there are so far no reports of injuries or damage.

Several smaller aftershocks were reported in the hours after the first jolt.
