Captain Mike Cobb was awarded the Outstanding Service Award for his 20 years wearing the uniform. Cobb has been critical in group crisis interventions from the Columbine school shooting to 9-11.
“It seems like a natural fit for you to wear that uniform,” said Mayor Pro Tem David Rose. “It's humbling,” said Cobb. “I represent the face of a whole bunch of people who are doing a lot of good work; I just happen to be the one singled out. This is very much a team effort.”
Cobb has trained thousands of first responders around the country. His nomination came from many of the same people he trained decades ago.
