New Housing Coming To Hermiston
HERMISTON - KEPR has learned Hermiston is getting a huge new subdivision that will add hundreds of homes.
We found out today the new homes will go on Theatre Lane. The city says this area has never been used for anything. Recently, water and sewage lines went in. Now it's time to build.
The plan is to add 350 new homes. These will be single family homes. Plus, a seven acre city park. The city planner told us this could amount to more than $200,000 in property taxes for the city.
"We're talking about 350 homes. That will increase our population by 1,200 people. That makes hermiston attractive for businesses to come here with a bigger customer base," said city planner Clint Spencer.
An extra 1,200 people would account for nearly ten percent of Hermiston's population. Construction will start late summer.
