New Playground Up and Running
MESA--The city of Mesa is finally seeing the fruits of their labor.
A new playground just went in a Poe Park.
The equipment was dedicated to State Representative Steve Hailey.
He passed away in 2008 from prostate cancer.
The city raised $6,000 and the state paid for $35,000.
"I think it's a great addition for the city of Mesa. it's something for the kids especially the younger kids something to do and I know a lot of the small towns struggle to have things like this that the kids will want to do, want to play and it keeps them out of trouble, gives them an alternative,” Representative Joe Schmick, ( R ) 9th District said.
It wasn't just money; some people donated their time to put together the equipment.
