Seattle -- It was supposed to be just a quick trip to Seattle.

But it turned out to be anything but that.

Shawna Jewel says, "It was a pretty hectic nightmare."

A nightmare that started at this Banner Bank in Lynwood, when Todd Jewel and his wife Shawna went to apply for a job.

Todd Jewel says, "My wife and I are thinking of relocating around this area so we thought what the heck we'll go see if she can get an interview."

But while waiting in the bank, the old school bandit walked in.

With a pair of sunglasses and bandana, he charged a female teller demanding money.

And that's when Todd charged into action.

Todd Jewel says, "I just basically dropped all my weight on my knee into his left side of his back and that's when I felt his ribs crunch."

Shawna then called 911.

Shawna Jewel says it was pure, "Relief as soon as I saw the first officer run in."

The robber is now sitting in Snohomish County Jail.

He is expected to be charged with at least nine counts of robbery.

As for Todd and his wife, they are both hanging out in Yakima, where it is calm and cool.
