UMATILLA - Staying in a umatill hotel may cost more.

Voters will decide on hiking the rate charged on hotel rooms and RV spaces. If it passes, the city will get an additional $20,000 a year. That would be spent on fixing up this intersection right off the I-82 exit. There are two lights back to back that slows down traffic.

"I think it would be a good thing. There are problems there with accident and people rear ending eachother coming off the freeway. The lights sometimes take long to get through," said Umatilla's Marvin Rash.

If the vote passes, the city wants to also put up a big welcome to Umatilla sign next to the exit ramp, and lay new grass next to the off ramps as well.
