RICHLAND, Wash. -- Can you imagine having a chunk of concrete thrown through your windshield at 70 miles an hour? It's a scary thought that's become all too real for at least three people in the Tri Cities after trouble-makers threw rocks off a Richland overpass.

Thursday, State Patrol, Richland Police and the state Department of Transportation (DOT) teamed up to talk about improvements on the overpass, which is near Beaver Bark.

The group brain-stormed several ideas for upgrades including installing lights, security cameras and fencing. Plus, both police and troopers will have 24-7 patrols in the area.

The big question is cost. DOT wouldn't give any hard numbers on how much improvements would set them back but changes hinge on their budget and, right now, it's tight.

It t will be a few more weeks before the groups know if they can move forward with the plans.
