BENTON COUNTY - Prosser has one, so does Kennewick and Richland. But there is no ballot drop box in Benton City. So the county is trying to fix it.
The Benton County Auditor's office is asking for grant money to pay for a ballot drop box in Benton City.
And they're also trying to get a drive-up box at the justice center in Kennewick.
"What our goal would be is to make drop boxes more accessible to all voters including handicapped and elderly people. For them it's difficult to make their way into the office to drop off their ballot or get out of the car. And they would now just be able to drive right up to box," said auditor Brenda Chilton.
That drive-up box would go next to the drop box for your district court fees. One new ballot box like this costs $5,000. The grant money is from the "Help America Vote Act".
