PASCO - We're finding out more about the future for Pasco, now that the mayor is stepping down. Joyce Olson is getting married and moving to Virginia at the end of the month. So what does this mean for the council?
Action News made some calls and here's the process. The city is going to send out a notice looking for applicants living in district 4, around Road 68.
After interviews, someone from that district will be appointed to council to serve until the next election in the fall of 2012.
Council will pick a new mayor in a couple months, once the new person is in place.
On Tuesday, we talked with outgoing mayor Joyce Olson about her advice for the person filling her spot.
"Not to come in with any single agenda. You have to your whole heart and sole in it. and a desire to be part of your community and make it a better place," Olson.
Mayor Olson has known her future husband since they were kids. They reconnected when planning their high school reunion.
