State Audit of KID Comes Up Clean
KENNEWICK – It’s a clean audit for the Kennewick Irrigation District. Despite allegations of workers using district equipment at home, the state auditor's office says it's satisfied with the swift action from KID.

Representatives from the auditor's office spoke to the KID board Tuesday morning. They don't plan any more investigating since the new district manager was so aggressive when allegations of misconduct came to light.

And there were no other findings from the past two years.

Also at the KID meeting, talk of a new road for Red Mountain wineries. The irrigation district owns a big chunk of land out here, so property owners are asking the district to sign a petition for a new road.

It would connect Antinori Road up at Col Solare winery with Sunset Road. No more dead end where all those wineries sit.

But the district isn't sold yet. Like the other property owners, they're going to have to pay to build it. It’s expected to cost a total of a $1 million. The county said it would not pay for the road, they’re going to have to do it themselves.
