State Testing Online: Who's Doing it?

WA STATE--Some local school districts are among the first to do state testing online.

The MSP is replacing the WASL.

This is a demo of what it will look like.

Pasco, Richland, Walla Walla, and Kennewick all have local middle schools participating.

The hope is that 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will all be online throughout the state in 2012.

Kennewick says all of its middle schools will take part to figure out what works best.

“Our buildings are pretty individual and there are not an equal number of computers at both schools and all sites. It depends on when they've been purchasing, we're not sure as a district how easily we're going to be able to do that,” Bev Henderson, Staff Development and Assessment Coordinator for Kennewick School District said.

Kennewick says accessibility to computers is a concern because they're doing district testing at the same time as the MSP, but with any new test it will take awhile to work out the bugs.
