PENDLETON - Hundreds of new workers may be coming to Pendleton in the next year. The city just needs to figure out where they will live.
Right now there won't be enough housing to support the expected growth in workforce. Keystone RV expects to hire up to 400 new employees by the spring. The city says it could see one thousand new jobs by the end of next year. They're planning for 150 new apartments and 150 new homes.
"We hope to start putting homes and family units into construction by the middle of the spring," said Tracy Bosen.
So where will the housing go? There are open areas like this one by Blue Mountain Community College. The city will have a better idea sometime after the new year.
