RICHLAND - Several thousand fans turned out to get Sarah Palin's signature on their copy of her book Sunday.

Palin didn't get to everyone. But before the signing she shook hands with people at the end of the line, in case she didn't get to them. Palin stayed an extra hour at the book store to sign more copies.

The Palin event proved to be a great learning experience for a Walla Walla High School senior.

Jessica Wilson is an aspiring journalist. On Sunday, she and her multi-media teacher were at the event shooting footage. Wilson interviewed Sarah Palin's mom.

She is in a media and animation class at Wa-Hi and a big Sarah Palin fan.

Wilson said she was very excited about the opportunity to cover the event.

"At first you're really nervous because I'm kind of a small fish in a big tank, but once you get past that it's just incredible to do those things that some people do," said Wilson.

The high school student has scored a big interview in the past. Wilson was able to interview former NBC anchorman Tom Brokaw.
